GSS Location Employee Scholarship
Awards and Restrictions:
- GSS Location Employee Scholarship Foundation funds can be awarded to GSS Employees who currently work at a GSS location.
- The amount of available Foundation funds to make these awards possible varies by location. Note – some locations don’t have any available funds, thus employees should inquire with location leadership before applying.
- The funds can be awarded to assist an employee with the costs associated with current or past education. Examples include classes/degree work at an institution of higher learning, a certificate program or a workshop.
- Documentation of a current balance due for the current or past education costs is required as part of the employee’s scholarship application process.

Employee Information:
- Important warning for Employees: If the total amount of any and all GSS Location Scholarship and GSS/Sanford Health tuition assistance received by an employee in a given year exceeds $5,250, Federal taxes will be applied.
- Once an Employee submits their application, Administrator will be notified and provided instructions for next steps.
- If request is approved, the Employee will need to set up their payment election for expense reimbursements in Workday/One Source by following the steps at: Manage Payment Elections article
- Educational assistance department processes the approved scholarship payment to the EMPLOYEE via Workday/OneSource.
