Hoeger Nursing Education Application
The Hoeger Nursing Education Program was established by The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Foundation in 2001 to honor the historic Hoeger family’s commitment to learning and to support Society employees who have been admitted to a regionally accredited college or university with intention of enrolling in a Registered Nurse program. In 2013, access to this tuition assistance was expanded to include a broader group of employees who are seeking undergraduate nursing education.
The Hoeger Nursing Education Program is available for any Society employee (including all service lines and National Campus) who is seeking a nursing degree from any regionally or nationally accredited academic institution, in any state where the Society has a presence, at any undergraduate level, including:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- From one degree level to another (undergraduate)
The Hoeger Nursing Education Program divides the cost of tuition, fees, and books each semester into thirds. One-third is paid by the employee, one-third by Sanford Health / GSS (up to $800), and up to one-third by the Good Samaritan Foundation (up to $800).
