Sanford Health and Good Samaritan Society Job Shadowing Program

Job Shadowing & Observation

Job shadowing at Sanford Health provides high school juniors and above with a unique, hands-on glimpse into various healthcare professions. Through this experience, participants can observe daily responsibilities, interact with professionals, and gain insights into healthcare operations and patient care. This program includes departments that have opted into the new job shadow process, ensuring a well-organized experience in carefully selected settings. An online application allows applicants to easily apply at their convenience, initiating the first step toward exploring a potential career in healthcare.

The job shadowing experience is designed to support participants in making informed career choices. By witnessing the day-to-day challenges and rewards of different roles, they gain a better understanding of what each profession entails and can assess whether healthcare is a good fit for their interests and skills. For those considering further education in the medical field, job shadowing also provides a valuable opportunity to build connections, ask questions, and gain real-world insights that are difficult to gather from textbooks alone.
