Elizabeth (Betty) Koster graduated from the Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Elizabeth and her husband, Merrill, established this scholarship, which had been a long-time dream of their family. 

Purpose: Help Native American nursing students achieve academic success with fewer financial concerns and go on to sustain high standards for nursing.

Eligibility: 

• Native American nursing students who have been accepted to a baccalaureate nursing program in North Dakota. 
  • First priority will be given to students of the NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health Bismarck.

Award: One $10,000 scholarship will be awarded

Award Distribution: This scholarship is awarded in two $5,000 payments, both of which are sent directly to the awarded recipient’s educational institute to be deposited into the student’s account. The first payment for the fall semester and the second will be sent in time for the spring semester.
